Maldives Immigration introduces ‘Rashun’ service

Maldives Immigration introduced ‘Rashun’ service on Sunday. ‘Rashun’ is focused to the citizens living in the atolls, hence facilitates the application for the Maldivian Passport through island and atoll councils.

This service aligns with the government policy of decentralization, as it is determined to delegate authority and build capacities of councils to provide swift services for their constituencies. Furthermore, the service will lead to empowered councils that provide equitable, quality services that result in greater public confidence.

This service is first introduced to Th. Veymandoo, and Th. Atoll Council commenced it on Sunday. Passport process will take working 48 hours and the customer can collect the passport from any of the regional offices of Maldives Immigration or from Immigration’s Head Office in Male’.

Immigration aims to extend the service in the future.

*Immigration has established regional officers in HA. Dhidhdhoo, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi, Gn. Fuvahmulah and S. Hithadhoo.
