Amidst the intensifying COVID-19 global epidemic and the recent outbreak in the Maldives, Minister of Health announced a Public Health Emergency on 12th March 2020 in accordance with the provisions within the Maldives Constitution.
Hence, as to minimize the mobility of people and as a precautionary measure to reduce the spreading of disease, applications for Work Visa and other resident visa extensions are exempt of medical report. This will be effective during the period of Public Health Emergency, which was declared for 30 days.
However, if the application for the work visa or other resident visas are for the first time, medical report will be required for submission.
