A targeted operation conducted in Male’ City

Maldives Immigration has conducted a targeted Immigration enforcement operation in Male’ City on Wednesday, with the support of Maldives Police Service. This is the first operation of the year, in the ongoing efforts to reduce the undocumented expatriates from Maldives.

In today’s operation, eighty undocumented expatriates were brought to Immigration for further enquiry. Sixty-nine expatriates among them were detained after the interview process for not having valid visa documents, as such, for violating Immigration Law. All the detained expatriates will soon be repatriated, once their travel document and air ticket is ready. Additionally, strict legal actions will be taken against all responsible employers for acting in contravention with Immigration Law.

The Controller General of Immigration urges public to report suspected cases of illegal migration. The cases can be reported to relevant investigating authorities or designated email [email protected] or to the designated mobile number 7980408.
