Border Security Training program launched by Immigration

Maldives Immigration has launched the ‘Border Security, Fraudulent Identities and Document Security Training Program’ today, in a ceremony held at Customs Building. Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure honorable Mohamed Aslam was the Chief Guest of the special ceremony held.

The training program is focused to front-line inspection officers of border security agencies. As such, officers from Maldives Immigration, Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Police Service, Maldives National Defense Force, Aviation Security Command, Maldives Airports Company Limited and Maldives Correctional Service will participate in the training program. Seven Participants from each organization will take part, to tally 114 participants.

The purpose of this training program is to enhance the capabilities of border security agencies by building capacities of front-line inspection officers to examine travel documents and to identify illegitimate travelers.

Maldives Immigration conducts this training in collaboration with Immigration Liaison Officers and related experts from United States, Canada, Germany and United Kingdom.
