Locals and work visa holders travelling from abroad require PCR negative result

Effective from 16th December 2020, as a preventive measure for COVID19, all arrivals must have a negative PCR result with a sample taken 96 hours prior to their departure to the Maldives. However locals and work visa holders arriving without a negative PCR result, must stay in home quarantine until a negative PCR result is obtained.

If traveling to greater Male’ area with a negative PCR test result, quarantine is not required but recommended to stay isolated at home for 10days.

Locals and work visa holders traveling to inhabited islands and resorts, must observe a 10 days quarantine period and will be released after a negative PCR result.

Locals and work visa holders coming to health sector, education sector and state managed shelter facilities must observe a 10 days quarantine period and will be released after a negative PCR result.

Children below the age of one year are exempt from the PCR test result.
