Vaccinated travelers shall include the details in the Traveler Health Declaration form

Effective from 20th April 2021, the requirement for the negative PCR test and mandatory quarantine does not apply for travelers who present proof of completion of vaccination (i.e. WHO’s EUL listed and/or Maldives Food and Drug Authority approved vaccines only) followed by the completion of fourteen days period prior to arrival to the Maldives after the vaccination.

As such, to get the exemption from presenting negative COVID19 test results and quarantine requirements, the following steps regarding the vaccination shall be complied.

  1. Travelers having proof of completion of COVID19 vaccination shall upload a copy of the document to the IMUGA portal while filling Traveler Health Declaration form.
  2. Traveler shall complete the mentioned details of vaccination while filling the Traveler Health Declaration form;
    • Date(s) of receiving the dose(s)
    • Brand name of the COVID19 vaccine
  3. Proof of vaccination shall include the following details;
    • Name of recipient
    • Date of Birth
    • Date(s) of receiving the dose(s)
    • Brand name of the COVID19 vaccine
    • Name of the Institution/Centre that administered the vaccine

If the vaccination, including the fourteen days after vaccination, have not been completed prior to arrival to the Maldives, the following categories of travelers shall hold a negative COVID19 PCR test result with a sample taken not more than 96 hours prior to their departure to the Maldives.

  1. All Tourist
  2. Special Visa holders
  3. Business visa holders
  4. Foreign diplomats and their accompanying family members
  5. Airline/aircraft crew, whose transit stay in the Maldives;
    • is arranged in an accommodation other than a designated transit facility and/or;
    • duration of stay exceeds seven days
  6. Crew of ships who arrive by air to sign onto a ship

Passengers except those specified above, and children below one year are required to undergo mandatory home quarantine for 10 (ten) days in their place of residence or work. Such passengers must obtain a COVID- 19 negative PCR test result before they are released from quarantine.

Maldivian citizens and Work Visa holders travelling to the Maldives are required to undergo mandatory home quarantine for 10 (ten) days in their place of residency or work if they are not vaccinated. Even if vaccinated, travelers arriving to the Maldives to work in health facilities, daycare centers, schools and residential care services are required to present a negative PCR test result on arrival.
