Visa

A Resident Visa is granted to eligible foreign nationals who are authorised to reside in the Maldives on a long-term basis in accordance with the Maldives Immigration Act. Resident Visas may be granted under various categories and circumstances, subject to the applicant meeting the relevant eligibility requirements prescribed under applicable laws and regulations.

Resident Visas may be granted to:

  • Foreign nationals legally married to Maldivian citizens;
  • Eligible foreign investors under the Corporate Resident Visa.
  • Foreign nationals who retain eligibility to reside in the Maldives following the dissolution of a marriage to a Maldivian citizen where they have a Maldivian child; and
  • Foreign nationals whose Maldivian spouse has passed away and who remain eligible for residence under applicable laws and regulations.

Corporate Resident Visa

  • A Corporate Resident Visa is granted to eligible foreign nationals who meet the investment requirements prescribed by Maldives Immigration Act & Regulations.

Eligibility

  • A Corporate Resident Visa may be granted to:
  • Foreign investors who have invested a minimum of USD 1,000,000 in the Maldives within the preceding three financial years.
  • Foreign nationals who maintain a fixed deposit of USD 250,000 in a bank licensed in the Maldives for a period of five years.
  • Foreign nationals who have invested a minimum of USD 250,000 in a project approved by the Government of Maldives.
